2024 SCOPE Swim-A-Thon
Published on: 07/16/24 2:10 PM
For the past few summers, Crestwood’s Leadership program has taken on various service projects to raise funds to benefit SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education), an organization which funds scholarships to send children from low-income families to attend overnight summer camp. SCOPE believes that summer camp is an essential component of the year-round educational continuum and plays a critical role in helping children from underserved communities to thrive. Unfortunately, these children have little or no access to summer camps and programs, resulting in an enormous achievement gap and summer learning loss. SCOPE bridges this gap by making summer camp accessible to as many deserving children as possible.
Swim 4 a Cause
This summer, the Leadership program has decided to take part in Swim 4 a Cause for the second year in a row. In order to support SCOPE, the Leadership team will be helping to organize and implement a swim-a-thon on Friday, July 26th. All Crestwood campers will be involved in this event to raise money for SCOPE as shown below.
Kindergarten and Below – Treasure Hunt: Collect as many coins and gems as you can.
1st Grade and up – Swim-a-Thon: Swim as many laps as you want/can. Laps will be modified for non-deep water swimmers.
All families can get involved in this event by signing up on the SCOPE x Crestwood fundraising page. We are asking for a minimum donation of $15/camper (additional siblings $10 each). If you would prefer to send cash or a check (made payable to SCOPE) please put it in an envelope with your child’s name and group name on it. All participants will receive a certificate of achievement.
Last summer, our Crestwood families donated an amazing $10,000 to this event!
We look forward to surpassing this amount this summer.
