Crestwood School Our School Staff
Crestwood’s nurturing, dedicated, experienced and talented teaching staff is what separates us from all other schools. All of our teachers are certified in Early Childhood education. Some teachers are also certified in Special Education and Reading. All of our Toddler through Kindergarten classes are staffed with a certified teacher and a professional teaching assistant. Crestwood’s teachers and teacher assistants work year round in both our school and summer recreation program which provides continuity for your child.
We have a teaching staff that is nurturing, loving, welcoming and as a group averages over 15 or more years of teaching experience at Crestwood. You will feel as if they are part of your family. Due to their reputations our teachers are requested by parents year after year.
Stephanie Steiner
Educational Director
Stephanie is the director of our year round private school and in the summer is the division head for our youngest campers, including our school children. Stephanie developed her skill with young children, parents and administration by working in a variety of positions at Crestwood since starting here in 1997. During the summers at Crestwood, Stephanie began as a counselor and then group leader and during the school year, Stephanie has taught music, parent and child, toddlers and nursery, prior to becoming our director. Before joining Crestwood full time, Stephanie taught music in Freeport public schools. Stephanie holds a BFA in Education and a Masters in History and Early Childhood from CW Post. Stephanie’s husband Joe is also a public school teacher and a former Crestwood staff member. Both of their sons attended school and look forward to coming to camp every summer.
