Crestwood School Our School Programs
Toddlers
Crestwood’s Toddler program is based on hands-on learning through socialization and play. With small student to teacher ratios, children have one-on-one instruction. Your child will explore at circle time, create projects and develop language all through hands-on activities including the Smart Board. By the end of the school year, we expect to teach our Toddlers to know their letters, shapes, colors, and be able to count and recognize numbers one through five. Each child will develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.
Our Toddler program is infused with daily specials. Your child will have art, Music, Physical Education, Science and Spanish once or twice a week depending on your program choice. They will also have interactive lessons on a Smartboard. All of the specialists collaborate with the Toddler teacher to enhance the education of each child.
Nursery
Crestwood’s nursery program is based on hands-on learning with a small student to teacher ratio. Children grow academically and socially through cognitive, social, and kinesthetic learning. By the end of the school year we expect to teach our Nursery students to spell and write their first names, recognize their last names, write, cut and draw independently, among other skills. Children work on activities, including the Smart Board, that strengthen their fine and gross motor skills and foster a love for learning!

Kindergarten
Crestwood’s Kindergarten classroom environment reflects real, relevant teaching and learning. Our classroom curriculum incorporates listening, speaking, reading and writing in meaningful contexts. Students also participate in hands-on learning through the use of a Smart Board. With small student to teacher ratios the classroom encourages children to see themselves as readers, writers and problem solvers.
Kindergarten students work in learning centers where they use language to accompany their activities, expanding their vocabulary. Centers allow children to work at their own pace and gain responsibility for part of their learning. Learning centers foster a motivation to learn through expanding cognitive skills, building self-esteem, expanding language and literacy skills and enhancing creative problem solving.

Your children will have Science, Foreign Language (Mandarin & Spanish), Fine Arts (Art & Instrumental Music), Physical Education and interactive lessons using a Smartboard.
