Holy Moly! You wouldn't believe it! Yesterday, a hot air balloon blew into Crestwood all the way from OZ especially to visit our campers!

We would like to thank all of our campers and staff for really expressing the OZ spirit by dressing up as their favorite charactors. Crestwood was totally transformed into the wonderful world of OZ complete with a yellow brick road that kids got to walk on when they arrived at camp on Monday. Plus, giant lollipops, flying monkeys, rainbows, and the emerald city could also be found at Crestwood this week.

And don't forget all the beautiful Dorothy's that sealed the deal on our special day.

Coming up this week:

Thursday: Lion's Badge of Courage
This day is simple, and is simply about courage and trying something new.  This is a day where counselors and group leaders teach campers all the wonderous ways they can see the world, and how they can overcome fear. Our counselors encourage their campers to try something new, whether it be a new activity, a type of food at lunch, or even something like putting their face in the water for the first time.  Not all campers need to be successful in their attempts to be called winners, because sometimes even building up the courage to try something new is just as important as actually doing it.  Also, not all campers in a group have to do something for the entire group to be called a winner, all the other campers have to do is cheer and motivate their friend to try it.  And if that one child has the courage to try something new, then the whole group is a Lion's Badge of Courage Winner.  If a group is successful at getting a Badge of Courage, then a picture of that group will be displayed on the back side of Krazy Korner with a star sticker.  The back of Krazy Korner will become, for the rest of the summer, The Lion's Badge of Courage Corner, and will be constantly updated.  Every time a camper from a group builds up the courage to conquer a fear of theirs, then the group will get another star by their photo.

Friday:  The Great and Powerful OZ!!!
• Pre-School and Kindergarten:  Ventriloquist Show
• 1st Grade and Up: Magic Show
